Will 'Lucifer' Season 2 & Season 1 Air on Netflix? Writers Tease Series Merchandise Release in 2017

"Lucifer" Season 2 ended with its midseason finale a week ago and fans are already dying to see the return of the series. However, ahead of the midseason premiere on Jan. 16, 2017, some fans also want to know if Season 1 and 2 will arrive on Netflix and if Fox plans to release merchandise from the show.

Writers for the series addressed these concerns on their official Twitter page, in the Lucifer Writers Room.  A fan asked if "Lucifer" Season 1 and "Lucifer" Season 2 would eventually be on Netflix. The writers admitted that they have no control over the content distribution, since they only write the content. If is up to Fox to coordinate with the streaming network.

Other followers of the series chimed in with suggestions on where else they can watch "Lucifer" Season 2 and Season 1. In Spain, the series is available on HBO Go, while in the UK and other countries it is available on Amazon Prime. Meanwhile, another fan asked whether Fox plans to release show-related merchandise soon or in 2017. The writers directed the question to DC Comics and to the network. However, they assured that planning a merchandise release from "Lucifer" Season 2 and Season 1 are on their Christmas list.

Apparently, a prominent item from the series that fans want to own is Lucifer’s coin or the Pentecostal coin. The mystical item appeared thrice in “Lucifer” Season 1 and never surface in “Lucifer” Season 2.

 Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) used it to gain entrance to the auction to find his stolen wings in "Wingman." He also gave it to the crooked FBI Malcolm in exchange for not shooting him in "St. Lucifer." The last time viewers saw the coin was in the Season 1 Finale," Take Me Back to Hell," before it disintegrated into dust.

Regardless, it is up to Fox whether this coin and other merchandise from the series will come out in 2017. It is also up to the network if want to release "Lucifer" Season 2 and Season 1 on Netflix.
