'Paragon' Release Date, News & Update: Epic Games Releases 'Monolith' Update, Featuring New Maps & Revamped Gameplay Experience

Back in August, Sony Interactive Entertainment released Epic Games' "Paragon" to PlayStation 4 and Windows PC. The multiplayer online battle arena was dubbed as stunning, but the gameplay seemed too slow for gamers to enjoy. Now, Epic Games releases "Monolith" update for "Paragon" featuring new maps and revamped gameplay experience.

The news comes via Gamespot, which reports that the game sees an overhaul in the "Monolith" update. Lead hero designer Cameron Winston shared that the update isn't merely an additional map to "Paragon," but is an entirely new revamped gameplay experience. The studio recognizes that the game came off as slow for players, and this is something they addressed with the "Monolith" update.

According to Winston, "Paragon"'s "Monolith" update brings a revamped gameplay experience, as in "faster movement speed, ability and attack execution speed, and overall game lethality." Gamers can also look forward to some changes in the "Monolith" update, including a number of hero updates. The original map is now called "Legacy" and has been disabled. In its place is the new asymmetrical map called "Monolith."

"Paragon" players will also notice that the "Monolith" update will no longer have Hero Kills drop CP on the ground, enabling a revamped gameplay experience. Instead, the CP will be given to kills and assists directly. Buffs are also no longer dropped, and instead will fly towards the last hitter of the buff minion. Moreover, there's a new card stat called "Power."

According to Kotaku, "Paragon" seems like a different game now thanks to the "Monolith" update that created a revamped gameplay experience. Travel mode is no longer available because the map is smaller. Characters also now have better advantage thanks to the new pacing of the game. Damage increases better now, and gamers can progress quicker than before.
