Michelle Williams and James Van Der Beek inadvertently stirred fans' hope of a "Dawson's Creek" revival, when they met at the "Manchester by the Sea" party over the weekend. Both actors had major roles in the 1998 series that also stars Katie Holmes and Joshua Jackson.
Michelle Williams and James Van Der Beek had a mini "Dawson's Creek" reunion in Los Angeles on Saturday. According to Woman's Day, both attended the holiday party that Matt Damon organized in honor of William's new film "Manchester by the Sea." This is the first time that the actors reunited after the show ended in 2003.
Williams and Van Der Beek do not seem to age. They still look so much like their characters, Jen Lindley and Dawson Leery, even though it has been 13 years since the show aired on The WB (now The CW).
Naturally, seeing the on-screen lovers brought a s ense of nostalgia for fans of the coming-of-age drama. Likewise, it once again stirred those speculations that a "Dawson's Creek" revival could happen.
Katie Holmes though is not open to the idea of having the casts back together again. She said a reunion would not be possible. However, Michelle Williams is not against returning to the show if ever a "Dawson's Creek" revival should happen.
Williams admitted in a previous interview that she would love to reprise Jen Lindley. That is, the writers would have to create a very convincing reason to bring her back, since Williams' character died in the series finale. The actress suggested that she could return in the "Dawson's Creek" revival as a ghost or in flashback scenes.
"I think it's a fun thing to sort of imagine, "Michelle Williams said in a previous interview with Today.
However, seeing a "Dawson's Creek" revival may not happen. According to Michelle Williams, she has not really heard any serious talks about the show getting back on screens again.
