Watch Dogs, Assassin’s Creed 4 DLC Exclusive to PlayStation For Six Months [VIDEO]

PlayStation 4 Has Its Own Timed Exclusives for Watch Dogs and Assassin's Creed 4

It seems like Ubisoft has given Sony the upper-hand over Microsoft. According to a recently revealed video for the PS4, major upcoming titles Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag and Watch Dogs will feature DLC that will remain exclusive only to PlayStation platforms for six months.

Sony’s newly released promotional video for the console, seen below, shows that there is exclusive content on the cards for the ones playing the titles on the PlayStation 4.

First noticed primarily by Shacknews, the U.S. version of the new trailer contains small prints revealing that this DLC is exclusive to PlayStation for a period of six months.

“The 60 minutes of new gameplay promised for both games are exclusive to PlayStation platforms for 6 months only, a new video released by PlayStation reveals. That means you'll likely be able to play as Aveline on Xbox and PC just by being a little bit more patient,” the Shacknews report states.

Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag's PlayStation-exclusive levels feature an older Aveline de Grandpre, the heroine from last year's PlayStation Vita title, Assassin's Creed III: Liberation. The exclusive content has been written by Liberation’s lead scribe Jill Murray.

Ubisoft, however, is yet to announce any details of Watch Dogs' PlayStation-exclusive DLC.

It wasn’t too long ago that Ubisoft detailed the game's Season Pass and DLC offering for Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag. At that time, it was revealed that for both the PlayStation 3 and 4, Ubisoft will offer additional, exclusive content in the form of as many as three extra missions with the heroine of Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation, Aveline de Grandpre.

Black Flag's lead writer Darby McDevitt, while discussing about the same on the game’s official blog, earlier wrote: “It's a ways forward so Aveline is a bit older. It's not directly related to the end of her story. If Assassin's Creed IV is like a novel, Aveline's missions are like a short story."

“The present-day is set in Abstergo Entertainment - which is this fun, hip company to work for... at first. You are able to access the Aveline stuff because your coworkers are working on retrieving different genetic memories from all kinds of different people."

Sony’s PlayStation 4 is currently scheduled to release on Nov. 15 in North America and Nov. 29, 2013 in Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Check out the new promotion below.
