Ian Somerhalder spilled that the "TVD" final episode may be dark, and he also hinted that the well-loved series might not have a happy ending, especially for Stefan and Damon.
Ian Somerhalder hinted that Stefan and Damon may not have a happy ending for "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8. According to Variety, Ian Somerhalder did admit that he is still unsure of what the final storyline would be, but he did mention that it will not be a bright future for the boys.
Variety then mentioned that Somerhalder hinted that Elena will finally make a comeback in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 as she was able to recover from her curse. It was then added that Elena Gilbert should no longer be lingering through her past memories as she should be free from whatever demons Stefan and Damon brought her.
Though Ian Somerhalder cleared out that he is still unsure as to what the future might hold, he did joke about spying on Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson, but to no avail. As "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 comes to a close, however, it is still unclear as to whether Nina Dobrev will be returning.
Elena's return might still be unclear, but Julie Plec hinted that Caroline and Stefan are already in the works in tying the knot. In a report from Entertainment Weekly, it was mentioned that the couple would not be able to go far in terms of their union. Julie Plec then went into specifics stating that Cade might have something to do with their failed marriage.
"The Vampire Diaries" season 8 will make a comeback on December 9. Fans will get to catch Stefan and Damon at The CW on "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 episode 7 entitled, "The Next Time I Hurt Somebody, It Could Be You."
