A recent report points to the likelihood that Square Enix may now be gearing up for a "Kingdom Hearts 3" release, possibly, very soon. The much-awaited sequel will have an episodic release and multiplayer gameplay will be featured in it. The idea was kindled by the discovery of an Easter egg in "Final Fantasy XV."
The character Prompto, a protagonist in the latest Square Enix video game titles, "Final Fantasy XV," who is known for being quirky-nerdy came out with a significant line of his dialogue which brings "Kingdom Hearts 3" into the picture. He dropped the Easter egg saying, "...Or like a magical key that can unlock any door-like from the video games!"
This seemingly far-out comment on "Final Fantasy" is music to "Kingdom Hearts" diehards. For this is a positive reference to Sora's keyblade on the latter action-role playing game. No announcements have come from Square Enix officially regarding this anticipated sequel, though. This is why some believe that this release may still be far off, with the "Kingdom Hearts 2.8" expectations dashed by a push to a Jan. 12, 2017 release schedule in Japan.
However, with other most awaited video game releases this year "Final Fantasy XV," "Pokemon Sun," and Pokemon Moon" already checked, the last one, "Kingdom Hearts 3" is still outstanding. Presently it remains the most anticipated video game for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles.
With no definite date of release, "Kingdom Hearts" game lovers are counting on the game being developed under wraps. After all, the game's creator Tetsuya Nomura has already promised a "bigger, wider world" than the games that came ahead.
In his Twitter post some months back, Nomura posted a message regarding the work that was being done on the game's development. He shared, "... KH3, is coming along steadily. There are new worlds in which you can run, jump ... I'm very excited about moving Sora around in the wider space with his higher range of maneuverability."
So, "Kingdom Hearts 3" fans need to buckle up for the wait. The new worlds which are going to be taken from Disney films "Hercules," "Big Hero 6," and "Tangled" are going to be worth it. Other worlds rumored are that of "Frozen," "Wreck-It Ralph," "Brave," and much more.
