‘The 1975’ News & Update: The Band Announces Their Special Pop-Up Shops

The 1975 have announced details of special pop-up shops to open in London, Manchester and London.

Having conquered the world with music in 2016, "The 1975" are stepping into the wonderful world of retail this month by opening three pop-up shops.

Last November, "The 1975" acclaimed second album "I like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It" named as the album of the year. Now, as they gear up to return to the United Kingdom for a huge arena tour, the band have announced a run of events for fans

You can get your hands on some "new and exclusive merchandise" at the pop-up shops. The shop at the Artzu Gallery in their hometown of Manchester will be open from 10th-11th December, then from the 16th-18th there'll be a chance to grab some goodies at London's Camden Market. Los Angeles is getting an extended chance to check out the wares though, as the shop on 6801 Hollywood Blvd is opening from 12th December until 1st January.

Frontman, Matty Healy recently spoke to NME about the song that means the most to him - revealing the song titled "She Lays Down" is about his mother Denise Welch's battle with post-natal depression.

"She Lays Down is about my mum, It doesn't get much more personal than that. I'm sure my mum won't mind me saying this; but she told me a story when I was about 17, she was so gripped by post-natal depression that she was coming into my room when I was a couple of months old, lying on the floor and actively trying to love me," as stated by Matty Healy in an interview.

"How fucking brutal is that? That is brutal - especially considering how close me and my mum are. We are like, insanely close. That resonated with me so much; I think that writing music for me is such a catharsis, and such a personal thing, I think that had to come out, " as Matty Healy added in the interview.
