Payback time may be coming soon in "Vikings" season 4. In the latest chapter of "Vikings," titled "The Vision," Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) shows signs of demanding that the life she once had be returned to her.
Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland) and Lagertha had a bit of a power struggle, one that may resonate throughout the remaining half of "Vikings" season 4. Aslaug reminded Lagertha that she is no longer queen in the most recent episode. The shield-maiden's response was short.
"You call yourself queen, but you can never be the Queen of Kattegat," Lagertha told Aslaug. It has been many years since Ragnar Lotbrok's (Travis Fimmel) infidelity resulted in a pregnant Aslaug but it seems like the former queen of Kattegat will still not be ready to forgive and forget the other woman in the upcoming episodes of "Vikings" Season 4.
As the "Vikings" Season 4 progresses, the two female leads in the show are expected to face each other in a battle to the death. In a recent interview with Showbiz Junkies, Winnick talked about what triggered her character's coming face-off with Aslaug.
"Kattegat is being run so badly and there's been a lot of problems with Kattegat, like people have been dying, things are not being run in a proper way as it should be," Winnick said. Because of this, Lagertha feels a strong desire to take back her land and become a better ruler to her people in "Vikings" Season 4.
She added that it would be "juicy," "epic" and "memorable." Although it is still unknown whether this will just be a verbal clash or a violent reckoning, fans should tune in to "Vikings" Season 4 because the show might have a different queen by the time of the finale.
Who will reign supreme, Lagertha or Aslaug? "Vikings" Season 4 airs every Wednesday at 9 p.m. EST on The History Channel.
