Here's What Apps the PlayStation 4 Will Have at Launch

We know exactly what games will be available for the PlayStation 4 when it launches later this month, but now thanks to Sony, we know what apps it'll have too. Whether you want to use the next-gen console for watching movies and/or television shows, play games, or just listen to music, Sony's got you covered from the get go.

* Crackle - A multi-platform television network delivering original series, movies and television programs in a variety of genres.
* Crunchyroll - Watch the latest and best selection of Anime right from Japan up to one-hour after broadcast.
* EPIX - Authenticated subscribers on the PS4 system can instantly access and stream more than 3,000 titles on-demand.
* Hulu Plus
* NBA Game Time
* Netflix
* NHL GameCenter LIVE - Instantly stream live out-of-market games in HD quality with your NHL GameCenter LIVE subscription.
* Redbox Instant by Verizon-Subscribers can stream from a library of hit movies on the PS4 system and receive 4 DVD or Blu-Ray rental nights every month for new releases at the Redbox kiosk. Everyone can purchase and rent the latest movies on-demand.
* Sony's Music Unlimited
* Video Unlimited 
* VUDU- Watch the largest selection of HD movies and TV shows and stream new releases before they're available on DVD, or build a collection of favorites without ever paying for a subscription.
* YuppTV- YuppTV offers over 150 Indian TV channels Live and on demand, including a selection of over 600 Movies to watch anytime, anywhere.

Under the hood, the PlayStation 4 boasts Supercharged PC architecture, X86 CPU, Enhanced PC GPU, and 8GB Unified Memory according to the official specs.

It will support the same PlayStation Plus service as the Vita and PlayStation 3. However, a Plus subscription will be required for online multiplayer games, but not for additional media services like Netflix. Sony has also updated the Dual Shock controllers with a touch screen and improved shoulder triggers, and bundles the console with a headset.

The PlayStation 4 is set to release on November 15 in North America and on November 29 in Europe. Day one games available for the system includeAssassin's Creed IV: Black FlagBattlefield 4Call of Duty: GhostsKillzone Shadow Fall,Madden NFL 25MinecraftNBA 2K14Need for Speed: Rivals, and more. It will retail for $399.

The company has some last minute games to announce, but won't be doing so until the console gets a bit of its own "midnight madness." The night before it launches, at 11pm EST, GameTrailers TV is hosing a PS4 All Access event, with Sony set to take center stage with some world premieres for titles that have not yet been formally announced in a blaze of last minute hype for the console finally releases. So it's got that going for it, which is nice.
