'Goodbye! BoxBoy!' Release Date, News & Update: Qbby Is Back To Nintendo 3DS With Amiibo!

Nintendo has announced that the third franchise "Goodbye! BoxBoy!" of the "BoxBoy" series will be released in Japan on February 2. The game for Nintendo 3DS will be released with a cute Qbby amiibo.

"Goodbye! BoxBoy!" is the third entry in the "BoxBoy" series created by the Kirby developer HAL Laboratory. It is rumored that it will be the last franchise to the game series. Nintendo's announcement of releasing the game comes with a special physical edition with Qbby amiibo and a 34-track soundtrack CD, Eurogamer reported.

"Goodbye! BoxBoy!" like the other "BoxBoy" series, is a puzzle platform game developed for Nintendo 3DS handheld game console. The players will have a control to Qbby, a square-shaped character that creates connected strings of boxes. The produced boxes will be used to help Qbby pass on different obstacles in each stage.

According to IGN, the concept of the "Goodbye! BoxBoy!" is to let players control Qbby surpass the obstacles in every stage since the character can't jump too high. With the use of Qbby's replicating talent, the string of boxes it produces allows players to solve a puzzle on how Qbby can safely cross buildings or any higher platforms.

Moreover, the string of boxes the Qbby produced can be used to protect it from any challenge, like laser beams. It can also be used to anchor Qbby and push itself to a ledge, which makes the "BoxBoy" series even more interesting to play. With the release of third franchise "Goodbye! BoxBoy!" it is expected that it will give more challenging gameplay, but fun.

Meanwhile, "Goodbye! BoxBoy!" is expected to give another level of satisfaction to puzzle enthusiasts, especially with the game play, design, and challenges.  "BoxBoy! and "BoxBoxBoy" game series are still available to download digitally via the 3DS eShop. The third game "Goodbye! BoxBoy!" will be released as a physical edition, but, it will be available for now in Japan with Qbby amiibo. There is no another confirmation yet if the game will be released in the U.S. and in U.K. soon.
