The studio hasn't released any statement clarifying the matter but a solo "Superman" is the top priority of the studio. It is of a tantamount importance to restore the character's reputation. Warner Brothers is doing its best to get Superman right this time.
"Man of Steel 2" will have no connection to "Batman Vs Superman", per Cinema Blend. The online publication that giving the character another solo film makes sense given that Justice League members are already receiving standalone movies; coming from "The Flash," to "Aquaman" and "Wonder Woman." Fans should see an interesting take on the Man of Steel.

"Man of Steel 2" may see Superman fight off against Brainiac according to latest speculations. Brainiac is known for his several attempts to destroy Superman in the DC comic literature and animation. He also has a thirst to destroy Krypton and the last Kryptonian alive.
Fans may remember Brainiac as an artificial being possessing limitless intelligence. The DC Universe has released several variations of Brainiac however, its ultimate goal is to destroy Superman. This could be the major plot of "Man of Steel 2".
