'Counter-Strike: Global Offensive' Latest News & Update: 'CS:GO' 1.35.6.0 Patch Notes Include Nuke Adjustments, New Audio Option

A new update for iconic first-person shooter "CS:GO" was released December 7 -- and it included several adjustments to the maps, gameplay and a lot more. This latest enhancement contains some substantial adjustments to the popular map Nuke and, at around 160MB, it is nothing to big. However, the patch notes reveal that it has some substantial additions to the gaming experience itself.

"CS:GO" Update: Adjustments To The Nuke Map

One of the main changes to "CS:GO" is a new option for audio settings, which produces a vast improvement on sound positioning. This new feature is called the Head-Related Transfer Function (HRTF) and it will be automatically enabled unless otherwise disabled by a player in the game settings of "CS:GO."

As for the map nuke, some of the big changes that were introduced were the removal of railings, and adding some cover and adjustments to the A bomb site. These changes encourage professional teams of "CS:GO" to refrain from avoiding the map when they play the game, like what they do to the plague.

"CS:GO" Update: Full Patch Notes Revealed

Dexerto offers a rundown on this latest update on "CS:GO" and, not so surprisingly, it comes with some minor treats that will jive in with the holiday atmosphere. "Holiday Cheer" has been deployed for a player's festive fragging season and that gifts are available on the game for a limited time only.

The latest "CS:GO" update also carries with it some features that would affect public lobbies; one of them being that "Steam Groups" have been renamed to "Public Lobbies." With this latest update, the Public Lobbies tab now also shows areas that are nearby and suggests other Steam group lobbies on top of a player's own groups. It is also quite exciting to note that lobbies can now support broadcasting to players who are nearby and that Steam Group lobbies now display the country associated with most of the lobby members.

A post on Reddit also reveals that the five-year veteran coin will be given to accounts that had cancelled and later on reactivated their old "CS:GO" licenses after they restarted their client. Loading screen tokens can now be localized when loading "Overwatch" evidence or maps which have been created by members of the community.
