Kojima Productions' 'Death Stranding' To Be Starred By Reedus; Decima Engine as its Game Engine

Even in the present time, zombies continue to be a popular culture on gaming. And, Japanese game director Hideo Kojima has been experimenting on making games having post-apocalyptic games with zombies that won't make players fed up by it, since it is much observable that when someone hears "apocalyptic," he or she thinks of a world filled with zombies.

Now, Kojima has reportedly developed a game to be released somewhere in the years to come, named
"Death Stranding."This is what he announced last 2016 Game Awards, after reportedly cutting the rope between him and his recent publisher. And, one of the game's highlights is its featuring of some popular names in Hollywood stories, namely Norman Reedus from "The Walking Dead," also with Hannibal's Mads Mikkelsen.

Now, why the tapping of those mentioned names for the game's development? He shared some details about his latest game offering at The Star.

According to Kojima, aside from the supposed announcement of the inclusion of some female characters in the said game, he also said that Mikkelsen and Reedus will undergo series of motion capturing, as well as recording their voices for the game.

But how about something more technical, like game engines? As what Gamasutra had reported, Kojima chose to use Guerilla Games' Decima Engine. Now, what's its use and how does it benefit the overall package of Death Stranding?

To those who are not tech-savvy, Decima Engine is a game engine - software used in making or developing games. It's like Photoshop for photos, and AutoCAD for drafters. Accordingly, Guerilla Games has the reputation in using a very powerful game engine that will produce quality games.

At Polygon, Kojima's partner, Mark Cerny, had shared that the Decima Engine is not just about the high technology it provides, but also the opportunity it gives like how to really make a virtual world easily.
