LEGO Marvel Super Heroes: A Complete Guide to All That You Need to Know

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes: Everything You Need to Know

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is the newest action-adventure title from TT Games and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. Featuring similar gameplay aspects to that of other Lego titles such as Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga and Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes, the game was also released under the title Lego Marvel Super Heroes: Universe In Peril for the Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita.

As far as a solid plot for the game is concerned, the story is kicked off by the arrival of the Silver Surfer, Galactus’s herald, who is currently on the run from S.H.I.E.L.D. and Iron Man. In the process, the Surfer gets separated from his surfboard and falls to the earth with the board shattering into several 'Cosmic Bricks.’ The remains are later collected by Fantastic Four nemesis Doctor Doom, who wants to use the bricks to build his own ‘Doom Ray of Doom.’

The game was made official back in January this year when it was revealed that LEGO Marvel Super Heroes would be arriving on a number of platforms like the Nintendo 3DS, PC, PS3, Xbox 360, PC, PS Vita and the Wii U.

“LEGO Marvel Super Heroes offers an original storyline in which Nick Fury calls upon Iron Man, the Hulk, Thor, Spider-Man, Wolverine and other heroes spanning the Marvel Universe to save Earth from such threats as the vengeance of Loki and the hunger of Galactus, Devourer of the Worlds,” the official press release stated.

“We’re very excited to bring a myriad of classic Marvel characters to life in LEGO form for some fun, family-friendly gameplay in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes,” said Tom Stone, Managing Director, TT Games Publishing. “Players will brave the ultimate mission to save the world as they explore famous landmarks in LEGO New York and take the adventure beyond Earth to iconic locations in the Marvel Universe.”

“Fans of both LEGO and Marvel have wanted this game for years, and we’re addressing that demand with more Marvel Universe characters than ever in a console game,” said TQ Jefferson, Vice President, Games Production, Marvel Entertainment. “If you’re a fan of Spider-Man, the Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-Men, Guardians of the Galaxy or scores of other Marvel characters, this is the game for you.”

It was also revealed that the game would allow players to unlock more than 100 characters “from across the Marvel Universe, including fan favorites like Spider-Man, Iron Man, Wolverine, Captain America, the Hulk, Thor, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Deadpool, Loki and Galactus,” alongside featuring “a plethora of super-cool character abilities, combat-like action sequences, epic battle scenes, puzzle-solving and a unique story told with playful LEGO humor.”

There’s not much to discuss about the gameplay since most of us are already aware as to how a LEGO game usually pans out. Still, keeping up with the styles maintained in previous such games, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes allows players to control as many as 150 different characters from the Marvel Universe, each with their own unique abilities.

The game’s creative team, to add more to the universe, also worked with the infamous Marvel god Stan Lee. Interestingly Mr. Lee himself, is a playable character, and also a part of a mission called "Stan Lee in Peril."

Apart from that, players can also look to explore the Marvel version of New York City by entering buildings, with every building having its own storyline that will surface when walked into, narrated in the background by Deadpool.

The game arrived for PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and the Wii U in North America on October 18, and November 15 across Europe, and was also set as a launch title for the PlayStation 4, as well as the Xbox One.
