As "Fairy Tale" approaches its climax, mystery after mystery gets untangled on the manga, and followers of the tale are beginning to wonder whether the story is near its end. In the latest chapter unveiled, some questions on the character Erza Scarlet were answered.
In chapter 513 of "Fairy Tale," Erza's parentage was finally brought to light after fans speculated on it for a long time. Her mother is Scarlett Despair Irene.
This by itself was a great surprise without another smashing report. The latter's true identity is Irene Belserion, the former Queen of All Dragons. Irene herself made the revelation, although her apparent disregard and indifference to her daughter make fans wonder. Everyone wonders if this does make Erza the next Dragon Queen.
Full details on both parents, however, were not revealed as yet, leading to some speculations on who Erza's father could be. One side believes that it may be Igneel, the Fire Dragon King, Natsu's master. If this proves to be true, this means that Erza would be considered Natsu's adoptive sister, as he thinks of Igneel as his adoptive father.
However, another faction making speculations of this bit of "Fairy Tale" trivia believes that there is another who could be Erza's father. Acnologia who proclaimed himself King of the Dragons may have fathered her which means that Irene could view her daughter as an unwanted child, explaining her stance against her daughter. Taken in this light, it may be possible for this conjecture to be true, if not for the detail that Acnologia and Irene have already met in battle and Acnologia gave no indication of knowing or recognizing her.
As to whether this relationship will have a bearing on the war between Erza and Irene remains to be seen in "Fairy Tale" chapter 514. But it is expected that more will be known about this mother and daughter bond as their war continues to be fought in the succeeding parts of the story.
With the war raging between Ishgar and the Alvarez Empire, the Spriggan 12 and Zeref's forces gain ground for the conquest of the Fairy Heart. Natsu is still fighting for recovery while the relationship between Anna Heartfilia and Lucy is a secret still to be discovered. But with the end of the manga strongly felt by enthusiasts to be fast approaching, many wonder what this heroine of the "Fairy Tale" will need to undergo before the end finally comes.
