Samsung Galaxy S8 Release Date, News & Update: No Headphone Jack, All-Screen Design & Everything Else To Slam iPhone 8

Samsung Galaxy S8 will not include a 3.5mm headphone jack. Instead, the company will use a single USB-C port to bring both the audio and power capabilities by the use of the space that was once occupied by the jack, for the other components. Rumors also claim a likely "all-screen" design for the next-gen Samsung Galaxy S8.

The removal of the headphone jack in the Samsung Galaxy S8 will likely bring a similar drawback that the iPhone users had dealt with. Given that there will be no means to charge and listen to music without the use of a special adapter, the current headphones are expected to be useless without a 3.5mm to USB-C adapter.

Meantime, Apple revealed that the removal of the headphone jack in the iPhone models took a lot of courage. The company also added that the 3.5mm jack is an outdated technology, which was taking up  a lot of space and holding back the company from using the features such as the new waterproofing and Tactic Engineering.

Samsung Galaxy S8 is being planned to launch during the 2017 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February. Aside from overcoming the negative feedback to the 3.5mm audio jack, Samsung is reported to face the customers' fears over the Samsung Galaxy S8 build and battery, according to Tech Malak.

Meanwhile, Samsung Galaxy S8 is also rumored to feature an all-screen design, as the tech giant is believed to push the limits of design with their next flagship phone. While each smartphone nowadays has a piece of glass that covers it front, there is usually a black frame the surrounds the display underneath that houses the important components such as the home button, or that bezel that Samsung is reported to be doing away.

Reports suggest that Samsung will replace the traditional physical home button with a virtual one, which will be placed in the glass in the lower section. However, it is not clear if this means a capacitive kind of key like in other Android devices or pressure-sensitive similar to Apple's 3D Touch, according to report.
