Fans of “Justice League 2” would have to wait for several more years before they could watch the movie because Warner Bros. reportedly changed priorities. Instead of megging the superheroes film, director Zack Snyder would wrap up “Justice League” first and then work on two other movies.
The Daily Dot reports that director Zack Snyder would then work on a smaller project, “The Last Photograph,” which would be followed by the “Batman” standalone movie of Ben Affleck. Only after doing the two movies could director Zack Snyder start work on “Justice League 2.”
2-Year Wait
“Justice League 1” is scheduled for showing on Nov. 1, 2017, which translates into at least two-year wait for fans of “Justice League 2.” TechnoBuffalo explains the focus on the standalone “Batman” film to the poor box-office performance of “Batman v Superman” and “Suicide Squad."
But not all films, like “Justice League 2,” have been pushed for a later production date. Other Warner Bros. movies are scheduled to follow the schedule, such as “Wonder Woman” in 2017 and “Aquaman” in 2018. Another reason behind the delay of the superhero film is the positive feedback to Ben Affleck’s performance in “Batman v Superman” that the studio is trusting the actor to write, star and direct the standalone movie.
Build Up Demand
The job ahead for Warner Bros. is to build up demand for “Justice League 2” by making a good “Batman” standalone film with Ben Affleck as reward for movie fans who are faithful to DC characters. It means Warner Bros, must curate future DC Extended Universe movies if it wants to match the Marvel Extended Universe. Although “Justice League” would likely go well in the box office, however, it the quality of Warner Bros.’ movies is poor, it would only alienate fans from the DCEU.
