Fuller House Season 3 Cancelled: Season 2 No Open-Ended Finale, No More Stories To Tell?

While Fuller House Season 2 just returned to Netflix on December 9, many are already asking if a third season is happening. So far, Fuller House Season 3 is not yet announced.

Some fans are now worrying that despite the good reception of the second season, the series will not be cancelled and not renewed for a third season.

Fuller House Season 3 can even be cancelled, considering how Season 2 ended. Unlike the first season, there was not an open-ended finale this season. To end it at this time will not leave out loose ends that can make ending the show surprising. Arrested Development, which is considered the same category as Fuller House in the roster of Netflix show only has one season so far.

On the other hand, there are some questions that the show can still answer if it wants to and the characters can can certainly show more and do more if the ones behind the show warrant it. So hope is not entirely gone anyway. Longmire can serve as an inspiration. The show has already seen multiple seasons!

Given how popular the show is though and the viewership that it was able to draw for the season 2, a cancellation might not be wise for Netflix. In case it does get a renewal, What's On Netflix predicted that the release date might be on December 2017. The first season was released in February 2016 and the second season December 2016.

If not December 2017, another likely date will be October 2017.

Meanwhile, if Fuller House Season 3 does happen, fans are hoping fervently to see the Olsen twins back. Ever since the reboot, fans have been asking why the twins refuse to return. The show's two seasons with Netflix even keep referencing the twins' absence. They got several shootouts on the first season.

In Fuller House Season 2, one notable shoutout was from DJ.

"We miss Michelle," D.J. says in Episode 6. She said this after giving thanks that almost the whole family was able to come together for the holiday, adding, "We hope she'll be with us next year."

As if hoping the Olsen twins were actually watching the show, Jesse leans back, looks directly at the camera and said, "Come, It'll be fun!"

TVLine learned from series creator Jeff Franklin that Jesse's action was their way for of urging the twins to return. "That's our way of communicating with them now," he explained. "We just talk to them through the show. What [Jesse] said was how we all feel. We'd still love to see them come back. Who knows if that'll ever happen, but we're all still hopeful."

But did the Olsen twins see and hear Jesse? Will Fuller House Season 3 be the right time for the twins to return?
