Destiny's enemy types features four different classes

Bungie and Activision’s upcoming action RPG shooter Destiny has already been tagged as one of the top titles that will grace fans with its presence in the coming year. Now, there are more details to follow up on the game, as the types of enemy classes have been made public.

Following the December 3 revelation that the game would be featured on the upcoming issue of
Game Informer, new details were revealed via a member of the Bungie.net game forums about the game’s enemy types.

As revealed via the forum post, the latest of issue of Game Informer reveals many of Destiny’s enemy types that have been divided into certain classes. As of now, four different classes have been revealed – Fallen, Cabal, Vex, and Hives. Details on them are as follows:

Fallen: Fallen have been described as vicious space pirates who have “descended from a once honorable species from different noble houses.” Now they are nomadic and aggressive, and originate from deep space “and they have distinct sigils from the house they belong too. Souls burst from their heads when you shoot them.”

Cabal: “Industrial, militaristic, and warmongering expansionists,” Cabal is described as “The Rome of Space.” “Legionnaires (typical front line grunts that charge and shoot)-> Centurions (more mobile and have jet packs to traverse the battlefield) -> Gladiators (Huge and strong with gattling guns) -> Psions (smaller cabals) that use their mind to attack and pilot giant cabal ships.”

Vex: Vex are believed to have originated “possibly from another time and space” who got here using warp gates. “Robotic bodies with remnants of organics, some are humanoid while others more anamilistic, all often with claw-like hands.”

Apparently, these guys are immune to head shots. Instead, their weak point is in their abdomen, where power cores oozes glowing liquid. “Goblins (harass and overwhelm)-> Hobgoblins (larger and have tails) -> Minatours (even larger; 3 glowing eyes) -> Hydras (Three headed segmented machines that float in air and attack via turrents attached to each segment) -> Harpies (smaller fly rapidly and occasionally open up before they fire).”

Hives: Hives are an ancient race that kept themselves alive in sarcophagus like ships. They are known for burrowing into a planet regardless of the damage it may cause “and burrow tunnels and dungeon like caverns. Burst into dust and embers when you kill them.”

“Thralls (mobs without weapons or armor) -> Troopers (bulk of combat but assisted by...) -> Knights (wield enormous cleavers) -> Wizards (Fly overhead and unless spells that draw upon the power of darkness) -> Ogres (... basically rancors from star wars that also blast violet energy beams from their heads and live deep underground),” the post adds.

Destiny, set in a post-apocalyptic future seven hundred years from now, is currently scheduled for a release on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One next year.
