Xbox One News: Microsoft's Kinect 2 Has a Problem With Swearing Players

Swear in NBA 2K14 on the Xbox One, and Hilarity Ensues

As we learned last week, if you choose to exercise some not so savory language while using Twitch, and there's a good chance Twitch will take some kind of action. Same goes for Skype, and now, it seems like even Kinect has a problem with everyone's favorite four letter words, depending on the game you're playing.

Newcomers are slowly but surely discovering a few games that penalize swearing, such as NBA 2K14. Not a giant surprise there, as it's been a feature with the previous game, NBA 2K13, as well as attempted with various FIFA titles.

However, not everyone seems to be quite aware of the history. A new video showing just such a player seems to have gone viral, and with good reason, because it's pretty fu#$*%g funny.

YouTuber RandomFrankP was in the middle of explaining his problems with NBA 2K14's Career Mode, when he discovered a brand new problem. See for yourself below.

I think the icing on the cake is that the Kinect managed to recognize "fucking," but not the "Fuck you Kinect," evidenced by the "Invalid Command" notice that pops up in the upper right.

Before any of you out there get a little too amped up about this aspect of the game, it's important to remember that the feature can be easily turned off. For those who prefer to leave it be, go right ahead. A point could be made that it actually serves to make the game more realistic, as league officials seldom look the other way when it comes naughty language. Choke your coach or punch a few fans, and everything's still gravy.

Maybe Dead Space 3 would be more up Frank's alley. Swearing in that game yields a bit more effective and impressive results.
