Donald Trump has finally chosen, between the Presidency and his businesses that is. The president-elect decided that he will devote his 100% focus and attention to ruling the nation, stepping away from his businesses the moment he assumes the position on January 20.
President-elect Donald Trump himself tweeted his decision to leave his businesses to his sons Don and Eric apart from executives. He put restrictions on his businesses too, probably for the peace of mind of Americans, claiming that no new deals will be engaged in while he completes his term (or terms) as the president.
This is a 360 turn for the businessman. It can be remembered that Donald Trump was once or twice heard saying he will not stop working as a real estate mogul even if he becomes the new Commander-in-Chief. He probably realized that this simply cannot be, unless he wants to be accused of using his power to boost his businesses. Other conflicts of interest may arise.
According to Trump, he's not doing this because it is illegal to be a businessman and the President at the same time - it is not. He just wants to focus his time on being the nation's President.
Of course, he cannot just make such an important announcement through tweets. He also announced that he will be having a news conference to elaborate on what he meant with his tweets and how he can be the President without being the businessman that he is for a long, long time.
Even though I am not mandated by law to do so, I will be leaving my busineses before January 20th so that I can focus full time on the......

Presidency. Two of my children, Don and Eric, plus executives, will manage them. No new deals will be done during my term(s) in office.

I will hold a press conference in the near future to discuss the business, Cabinet picks and all other topics of interest. Busy times!

CNN described these tweets as "vague." The President-elect might have promised a news conference to clear things but most Americans think there's something he's not sharing just yet. What is the catch? After all, the extent of businesses he owns is no joke.
Donald Trump owns or has a stake in over 500 companies, CNN reported. Among these, 150 are operating or have done business in over 25 foreign countries. Could he just step away like that? Even though he does so, will the businesses no longer be associated with him?
Regardless of the questions, it seems that Trump is indeed trying to listening to Americans. Just last month, a poll by CNN revealed that 60% of Americans do not believe that Trump is doing his best to address issues of conflicts of interest.
Recently, the once popular TV personality because of his Apprentice show, also promised to have nothing to do with "Celebrity Apprentice" even if he stays as the executive producer.
I have NOTHING to do with The Apprentice except for fact that I conceived it with Mark B & have a big stake in it. Will devote ZERO TIME!
