Tales from the Borderlands Revealed by Telltale Games, Gearbox [VIDEO]

Tales from the Borderlands Arriving 2014 from Telltale Games, Gearbox

Telltale Games made it huge at this year’s Spike VGX Awards with a number of high profile announcements. Not only did the company reveal details about its upcoming videogame based on the popular TV series Game of Thrones, but it also took the opportunity to reveal an episodic adventure series that’s being created in collaboration with Gearbox Software called Tales from the Borderlands.

While, unfortunately, nothing much has been revealed in details about the game so far, apart from the announcement trailer that you can check out below and a press release, it has indeed been confirmed that the game will be arriving for PC with no mention about it heading to current or next generation consoles. Apart from that, it has also been revealed that players won't be playing the game as vault hunters.

"Gearbox shares the independent spirit that Telltale was founded on, and like Telltale, they've broken the boundaries of what to expect within a gaming genre," said Dan Connors, co-founder and CEO of Telltale Games.

"Our partnership is something that we are very excited about, because it will unite the incredibly rich world of Borderlands with Telltale's focus on story-telling driven by player choice, and characters that people truly care about."

Randy Pitchford, President of Gearbox Software, also chipped in on the act by stating: "At the 2012 Spike TV VGAs, our studios and games - Borderlands 2 and The Walking Dead - were fortunate to do incredibly well that night winning more awards than any other games!"

"So we met up later for a great first date, one thing lead to another and, well, we're having a baby. Borderlands is incredibly important to us, so it is meaningful to share that with this partnership. I have great confidence and excitement for what Telltale has in store for its all-new adventures in our universe."

Heading back to the new video on hand, it seems like Handsome Jack is pretty happy about the fact that a lot of people are going to die since a number of people (who aren't exactly vault hunters and experienced with guns) and are still willing to wield a gun. He says the fans want "every part of this insanity" that's about to unfold with the new game.

Check out the awesomely twisted trailer for the same below.
