Now we've had plenty of mods for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim before. We've had mods that gave you gigantic boss monsters to fight or even changed the wintery landscape to a tropical paradise. Plenty of creative people have loved tinkering with the game and messing with all of its content, and the world is so massive that the options seem unlimited. But what no one has attempted yet- indeed, what seemed like it should never be attempted at all- is a mod that turns it into a straight-up horror movie. We have that now.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has a great opening. In it you're playing a man condmened to die for crossing a border illegally. Found guilty, you stand around as one by one the other prisoners in front of you are beheaded, and you're next in line. You get your head placed on the chopping block only to be saved at the last minute by the arrival of a dragon. The enormous fire-breathing beast is not the ideal saviour, since you end up running for your life with everyone else and plenty of people get burnt to a crisp along the way, but you do manage to survive. The town is another story.

A dragon is one thing but those eyes... those cold unblinking eyes...and that sound! ...that sound that reverberates through your soul...
