‘Captain America’ Latest News & Update: Topping Best Actor For The Buck List Makes Chris Evans Irreplaceable As Captain America

Chris Evans, like Robert Downey Jr., has been rumored to be replaced by younger actors in their roles as "Captain America" ad Iron Man, respectively. Marvel President Kevin Feige has debunked the rumors, but a recent report would be an assurance that Marvel would keep Chris Evans as Captain America for a longer period.

Forbes reports on Monday that Chris Evans topped its list of Hollywood actors who are best for the buck in 2016. The “Captain America” actor’s movies returned an average $135.80 in terms of movie receipts for every $1 he is paid. It is his second consecutive year to have that recognition.

Computing For Return On Investment

To determine that amount, analysts of Forbes studied the last three biggest films of Chris Evans released prior to June 2016. The film must have been shown in at least 2,000 theaters. The operating income of the movies was added and divided by Chris Evans’ estimate payment for the movie which yields a figure for return on investment, Variety explains.

Forbes used the box-office results and other data from Chris Evans’ “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” “Avengers: Age of Ultron” and “Captain America: Civil War” to come up with the $135.80 figure. In sharp contrast, the most overpaid actor, also two years in a row, is Johnny Depp whose last three movies returned only $2.80 for every $1 paid “The Pirates of the Caribbean” actor, according to Forbes.

Who Else Are On List?

After Chris Evans of Captain America, other actors worth the buck are Chris Pratt who returned $125.40, Scarlett Johansson who returned $88.60, Mila Kunis who returned $49.50 and Vin Diesel who returned $32 for every $1 paid. Besides Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson who are in Marvel movies, there is a third actor on the list at number 8. The actor, Robert Downey Jr, was also rumored to be a candidate for replacement as Iron Man because of his age, but the $18.40 he brings in for every $1 paid him should be a strong argument to keep him in that role for a longer period of time.
