Fans excited to get their hands of Square Enix's "Nier: Automata" just need to wait until Dec. 22 for the global release of the demo. As a surprise, the company is holding a live stream for fans a few days ahead. The show will be hosted by Dengeki and will not only feature gameplay, but also a reported surprise announcement from Square.

Siliconera reports that the stream will have Yosuke Saito from Square Enix, Eijiro Nishimura from Platinum Games, voice actress Yui Ishikawa and voice actor Natsuki Hanae. The producers are expected to reveal some new details about the game or possibly some special reveal. The "Nier: Automata" live stream will be accessible through the following links for NicoNico Live and on YouTube. The channels will go live on Dec. 15 at 8:00PM JST.

"Nier: Automata" is an RPG mixed with action-game elements set in a post-apocalyptic world. The game features the war amongst the remaining humans and a mechanical army from an unknown world. Humanity is fighting to reclaim what they lost through YoRHa androids. They are controlled remotely through an orbital base above earth called the "Bunker." The androids are programmed to create a self-sufficient opposition to defeat the machine invaders.

Some of the characters featured in "Nier: Automata" are YoRHa Number 2 Model B a female android with a calm and composed personality. She appears as a blindfolded young girl with silver hair, dressed in a gothic Lolita outfit and wields different swords. YoRHa Number 9 Model S is an emotional reconnaissance android that looks like a young boy with a blindfold and uses a two-handed sword. Lastly, YoRHa Model A Number 2 is reportedly a prototype that prefers to function alone. She appears as a girl with long silver hair with a tight fitting dress and appears proficient with a great sword and a katana.

Square Enix will be releasing "Nier: Automata" for Japan on Feb. 23, 2017, North America on March 7, 2017 and Europe on March 10, 2017. A PC version was also confirmed but no exact release date was announced.
