'Final Fantasy' News & Update: 30th Anniversary Roadmap

Some speculations popped up that Square Enix will launch "Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary Collection". "Final Fantasy VII Remake" (first episode) and "Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age" will celebrate the "Final Fantasy’s birthday." In 2017 fans will get to enjoy the "Final Fantasy" trilogy in PS4 in 1080p and 60fps.

According to Gaming Instincts, “The Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary Collection” will include “Final Fantasy I” to “Final Fantasy IX” and will be released on Disc/Card, PS4 as well as PS Vita. “Final Fantasy” II and III will receive an English translation for the first time, other will be Japanese versions. This collection will have a built-in art gallery and a sound test menu to play songs from games included. There will be three versions from the collection: A regular version, Collector’s Edition and Crystal Complete Edition. But, these plans are just for North America for now, there is no information for other regions.

Fans of "Final Fantasy" are passionately waiting for 2017 to get their treat. It is not confirmed yet, but there are rumors that Square Enix will release the "Final Fantasy: 30th Anniversary Celebration." The Collector’s Edition will contain art books and soundtracks while the Crystal Collection will contain also art books, soundtracks as well as additional stuff like Black Mage Statue and FF Trading Card games among other things. "The Final Fantasy VII Remake" will also find its way to Steam sometime in 2018.

According to VG Leaks, the games will remain on Japanese version with Japanese titles and censorship but now two of them will get an English translation for the very first time. The Crystal Complete Edition will include games as well as physical items like crystal necklace, a Black Mage statue, and Trading Card Game starter decks among other things and everything will be packed in a luxury chest with the “Final Fantasy” logo.
