"The Walking Dead" most notorious villain, Negan, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, might have gotten and won the attention of fans and several award-winning bodies. However, in the recently announced Golden Globe Nominations for 2017, the actor's remarkable performance had been snubbed.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan's character as Negan in "The Walking Dead" Season 7 has set the internet to a buzz. Many fans cried when Negan killed off one of the favorite characters of the series, Glenn played by Steven Yeun. No one can deny that the latest season is already "The Negan Show."
In fact, according to Comic Book, there is an obvious decline in the ratings of "The Walking Dead" Season 7 episodes where Negan is not included. Some fans may be itching to see how Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) will kill or overthrow Negan and his crew. Morgan's performance is enigmatic that it's not surprising if he will get an award for the role. Fan appreciation becomes higher when Negan is in the house!
Given the statistics, it is not advisable to kill his character soon. Based on a report by Digital Spy, Morgan's character as Negan in "The Walking Dead" has just got the nods last December 11 in the Critics Choice Awards. Jeffrey Dean Morgan took home the Best Guest Performer in a Drama Series. There's more reason to see him in more episodes then.
Ironically, despite the recent recognition for Morgan's villainous character in "The Walking Dead," he was snubbed or probably ignored in the 2017 Golden Globe nominations. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association was not impressed enough to give him a slot.
Aside from "The Walking Dead's" Morgan, other worthy nominees that are excluded in the nominations for 2017 Golden Globe are "Empire's" Taraji P. Henson and " Scandal's" Kerry Washington. The announcement of winners is on January 8. The event will be hosted by Jimmy Fallon.
