House of Cards Season 5 cancelled? even though it was renewed earlier this year, up to now air date information, news and updates with regard the highly-watched show are still not out. Many are now worried that the show is actually headed for cancellation. With no Beau Willimon, fans are quite sure that this is a possibility.
Rumors have it that the showrunner, Beau Willimon's unfortunate exit from the show is a clear indication that the end is near for House of Cards Season The showrunner reportedly left the show last year and because of this, the creative team behind the show is struggling.
According to Traveler's Today, the "House of Cards" creative team seems to be having a hard time coming up with an exciting and interesting season so cancellation is in the cards.
Apparently, as the site described, Willimon is "House of Cards" most important person as he almost run the whole thing, being the creator, the executive producer (former), and screenwriter.
Heat Street explained that Willmon could not take it anymore, working for the series that is. Allegedly, he encountered some conflicts within the organization and cannot agree to how the show is being managed. With numerous awards and nominations for the show, one can certainly wonder why Willimon will leave if nothing huge has happened.
Currently, Willmon is actively working on a progressive political organization called the "Action Group Network." Here, he gets to reveal his anti-Trump beliefs.
When Willimon left, the resounding question was what will happen to House of Cards Season 5. Even as Melissa James Gibson and Frank Pugliese took over, the question still hangs in the air. According to Traveler's Today, the cast members of House of Cards are not motivated to work on the storyline of the fifth season because it deviates from the original story presented in the previous seasons.
Without a satisfying House of Cards Season 5 storyline, maybe cancellation will be the better route.
But it is still too soon to tell if Willimon's exit can do such damage. After all, he himself said that he left the show in capable hands.
"I'm grateful to Netflix and MRC, my fellow executive producers, our two incandescent stars Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright, our talented writers, as well as the incredible cast and crew with whom I've had the privilege to work," he said when he left, Hollywood Reporter reported. "After five years and four seasons, it's time for me to move on to new endeavors, but I'm supremely proud of what we've built together, wish the show much continued success, and leave it in the hands of a very capable team," he added.
In the meantime, we can all sick back and wait. Stay tuned for more updates of "House of Cards" Season 5 news, update, and air date!
