Blizzard must be feeling the holiday season as they give details on the "Overwatch" Winter Wonderland event this month. The Winter Wonderland update is a seasonal content that will be available on the "Overwatch" game from December 13 to January 2. According to recent revelations, the update brings The Hanamura and King's Row maps with all new skins and a holiday theme.
The Winter Loot Boxes in the upcoming "Overwatch" Winter Wonderland update will award players with 100 new cosmetic items; that they can lock during the event period. The Winter Loot Boxes can be earned by purchasing them or as an award as you progress in the game.
According to Blizzard, "Each of the Winter Loot boxes "will contain at least one item from our 2016 Winter Wonderland collection - including profile icons, sprays, victory poses, emotes, highlight intros, skins, and more." As for the drop rates of the Loot Boxes in the "Overwatch" Winter Wonderland update, the contents are not yet revealed, but the developer promised random items for the game.
Interestingly, the seasoned loot collection will remain on your list for as long as you have the "Overwatch" game. According to the Attack of the Fanboy, loots coming from the Winter Wonderland can be kept forever; unfortunately you cannot earn them after the "Overwatch" Winter Wonderland update ends.
If you're wondering what else is included in the "Overwatch" update, Blizzard also included the Mei's Snowball Offensive; "a 6v6 single-elimination game mode. The caveat for this mode is that Mei's Blaster now fires a super-powered snowball instead of frost or icicles. You have to find snow piles to reload the weapon once it's empty."
