PS4 Issues: Share Button Becomes Newest Reason For Concern

PlayStation 4 Share Button Has Issues, a Lot of Issues

The new PlayStation 4’s Share button is definitely one of the special features of the new console’s DualShock 4 controller, and has already been immensely popular with at least a million shares been done since the console’s launch. However, it seems like all is not well for the Share button with complaints related to the same pouring in.

A number of users took to a recently opened a thread on Reddit discussing the problems with the console’s Share button, with one user stressing on the fact that Sony “really needs to fix the share feature.”

“At launch I had no trouble with it. Now it's not even capturing what I wanted. It’s like it captures a couple minutes before what I wanted,” the user wrote.

“I won't ever be able to see my first heli pilot kill again. Thanks, Sony. And I'm pretty sure I've done all there is to do to try and fix it,” he added.

But that’s not all. A number of other users are also facing similar issues with their console’s sharing button. For example, in one instance a user writes: “There's a bit in Killzone where if you melee a guard he falls onto a ramp to an elevator.”

“When you start the elevator the ramp flips up and so does the guard. Silly really, but it was a moment I wanted to share, yet the system had only stored the very end of the last chapter. Disappointing.”

Apparently, a number of other users also tried to capture the same from the game but were unsuccessful as well.

And while these are problems that are directly related to the Share button in the console, there are others that are related to the linked social media pages.

A user on Reddit, while commenting on if there’s any way users can bypass the sharing procedure with Facebook and if there’s any way to sort it out, stated: “Sharing on Facebook is the only way. And even then, people on your PSN friends list have to be your Facebook friend to see it (unless you make public).”

“This is a cumbersome system. I know a majority of my Facebook friends don't care about what I share on PS4. Facebook is the last place I'd want to share my clips.”

“I rather have YouTube, or someway to share only to my PSN friends. Or even better yet, allow us to download the raw file of footage. I know Sony intends to do these things. I just hope it comes sooner than later,” he added.

The only big hope now is Sony takes a note of this and addresses the issue with the next PS update it pushes out for the new console that will also address the DualShock 4 controller. Only time will tell.
