Monaco vs. Lyon Preview

Monaco is on a rampage during their eight-game unbeaten run. They outscored their opponents 26 to four during that run which propelled them just one point behind league leaders OGC Nice.

In their last league game against Bordeaux, the in-form Radamel Falcao scored a hat-trick while Djibril Sibide added one in the 4-0 win. On the other hand, Lyon currently sits fourth in the Ligue 1 table with 28 points after 16 games. They have won nine games while losing six and drawing one.

Les Gones have won their last two league games, beating Nantes 6-0 to end November before defeating Rennes 1-0 last week. Mathieu Valbuena scored the lone goal against Rennes in the 28th minute. OL president Jean-Michel Aulas is not confident about his club's chances against Monaco.

"They have had some unbelievable performances. I know because our doctor is in contact with Monaco's that there is an element of wanting revenge for what happened at the Parc OL, an incredible match that really hurt them," Aulas told Ligue1.com.
