AMD Ryzen Processors Release Date, News & Update; AMD Confident That New Ryzen CPU Can Beat Intel’s Core i7-6900K; Specs Revealed!

AMD New Horizon event officially announced the existence of its newest desktop processor called Ryzen. The cutting-edge processor modeled from the Zen Architecture is specifically designed to accelerate desktop performance for both gamers and regular users.

AMD's current FX line of processors, with FX-8150 as the most famous model, failed to help AMD compete with the market leader Intel. However, Hot Hardware said that AMD now aims to reintroduce itself and regain the upper hand from Intel with the upcoming release of its Ryzen processors.

To demonstrate the speed of the upcoming eight-core processor, AMD released the source file used for Ryzen for actual user testing. According to PC World, this is not commonly done but since Blender is open-source and free, haters and fans alike can now actually test their PC's speed against the speed of Ryzen-based chips.

The CEO of AMD, Dr. Lisa Su is positive that Ryzen is capable of toppling Intel processors that currently lead the market. Su said that there has been no impressive development in desktop processors recently and she is confident that Ryzen is definitely something to watch out for.

The 'Zen' core housed at the heart of Ryzen processors is the result of thousands of engineering hours and focused executions aimed at delivering a higher-level of experience for all end-users. Su added that Ryzen processors, which are run by SenseMI technology, represent AMD's enthusiasm for innovation and leadership.

The demonstration revealed that Ryzen is capable of rocking eight cores and 16 threads at a 3.4GHz speed threatening Intel's Core i7-6900K. Actual testing also proved Ryzen's impressive performance when used for video games. In fact, the highly anticipated processor might just end the need of using two computers for simultaneous streaming and encoding since it is capable of doing both at the same time.

There has been no mention of the price but Ryzen is expected to hit the market before the end of the first quarter of 2017. Will Ryzen beat Intel? Share your thoughts below.
