Gaming Console Wars 2017: Nintendo Switch To Release First, Not Against PS4 Pro; Project Scorpio’s Best Asset Is HoloLens

Gaming console fans are expected to see two new releases for this year. News of Microsoft developing their own 4k capable consoles broke out in the previous year as the company confirmed Project Scorpio in the works. In the meantime, the Nintendo Switch was reportedly one of the most searched topics on the internet in 2016 as the device is believed to be a hybrid console.

Nintendo Switch To Launch First

While both consoles have been confirmed for this year, the Nintendo Switch is expected to be the first gaming console to arrive this year. In the meantime, Sony went ahead in the game last year with the launching of the PS4 Pro and the PlayStation VR headset.

On the contrary, Nintendo debunked rumors that the Nintendo Switch will directly rival the PS4 Pro as the device is reportedly aimed at a different market. The Nintendo Switch is expected to combine a portable handheld and a home console in one device. Several titles like Zelda and Mario have already confirmed for the platform.

On the other hand, Microsoft once noted that Project Scorpio would render 4k in its true form. Microsoft may expect the gaming console to take market share away from the PlayStation brand where the Xbox One has failed from day one, ValueWalk reported. Interestingly, Microsoft also claimed that the Xbox Project Scorpio may be the most powerful console ever produced with at least 6Tflop of power set to rival gaming PCs.

Xbox Project Scorpio Releases In Holiday 2017

Meanwhile, the Xbox Project Scorpio may roll out later before the year ends. Rumors have been circulating that the gaming console would carry eight CPU cores and 320GB memory bandwidth. Microsoft is also believed to include HoloLens with Project Scorpio.

The gaming console is reportedly set on delivering a more immersive gameplay with its powerful hardware, VR compatibility and high-end functionalities. Moreover, Xbox Executive Aaron Greenberg also noted that the gaming console would be ready for a Holiday 2017 release.

Xbox Project Scorpio gaming console is believed to cost $399 at launch. Apparently, the price has been noted as the lowest and most reasonable price for a high-end gaming system, Windows Central reported.
