As gamers anticipate updates about a new Metroid game, Nintendo President Reggie Fils-Aime has finally broken his silence and shared a bit of information about its upcoming games which will possibly include a new Metroid Game. And although no definite time and date were given, there is a big chance the game can be ready by next year.

In an interview with the Nintendo President in an even in New York city, he was asked for updates about a new Metroid game. He said that the company has been aware of their consumer’s interest in the game and are still anticipating its next installment. “Talk to me in a year and let’s look back and see what’s happened.” He added.

Based on Fils-Aime’s statement, a Metroid game could be ready by next year or at least a more definite release date will be ready. Actually, rumor has it that Retro Studios have been in the works for a game for almost three years now. This is the same company that created the “Metroid” trilogy so there is a chance they are also making its next installments. However, sources confirm Retro Games is working on a project but its highly unlikely to be “Metroid”. The project is said to be a new and original game but fans are still hoping Nintendo is just keeping mum about it and will just surprise the fans one of these days.

Metroid is a science fiction game series from Nintendo that is all about completing a mission in space by playing the character of bounty hunter Samus Aran. The game includes 11 installments that were available in almost each video game console released by Nintendo. It is one of their most popular franchise which is why it's not surprising that fans today are still waiting for its comeback.
