Watch Dogs Controversy: PC Version to be "Better" Than E3 2012 Build, New Footage Will be Shown

PC Version of Watch Dogs to be "Better" Than E3 2012 Build, New PC Footage Will be Shown

Watch Dog's Creative Director Jonathan Morin is speaking out again about Watch Dog's visuals. After a report last week detailing the backlash and semi-conflicting comments toward the game's graphical quality and perceived downgrade, we're once again muddling around information on Ubisoft's upcoming game and whether or not it will indeed look as good as its 2012 E3 trailer.

Morin, that previously told Eurogamer that the game will probably not look like the "'movie [style vision] of every single person on Earth who saw that [The Games Reveal Trailer]", and then a year prior telling VideoGamer that Watch Dogs will in fact look better than the E3 2012 trailer due to "no scale down", has a new comment in regards to recent game footage.

Morin took to Twitter to address fan complaints about the graphical disparity between the E3 2012 footage and more recent footage, "Guys... Trailer wasn't a good GFX ref. E3 2012 was PC as we always said and E3 2013 is PS4 reference. Was always the case... ". This statement implies that the footage shown last week was from the PS4 version.

When asked by someone on Twitter whether the PC version of the game will look like the E3 2012 demo, Morin said the following, "In many regards better. We did not stop working and PC never stop to evolve...".

It's hard to get a bead on what Morin means; his comments have sugguested that Watch Dogs will look better than the reveal, not as good, and then better again.

Ubisoft's Comments Regarding Watch Dogs' Visual "Downgrade" Offer no Solace to Upset Fans

When asked whether or not we'll see new footage from the PC version of the game - in my opinion something Ubisoft needs to do ASAP to calm this storm - Morin said that we will.

Morin had also pointed toward weather effects being part of the graphic differences, but the fact remains, Ubisoft has received a fairly large backlash due to the graphical disparity from different builds of this game. If they're going to calm the storm and prove that the game's reveal was not all bullshot fibbery, they're going to have to release PC footage very soon.

Watch Dogs is set to release on May 27 for Xbox 360, PS3, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. The Wii U version is delayed to an unspecified date.
