Game developer NetherRealm Studios recently released a trailer video for its upcoming "Injustice 2." The clip features the four female playable characters - Poison Ivy, Catwoman, Cheetah and Black Canary.

Poison Ivy, Catwoman, and Cheetah are newly announced female fighters, while Black Canary was announced just recently, Kotaku reports.  This brings the game's lineup to 21 characters strong.

Poison Ivy is a natural femme fatale.  Her looks will surely entice every man she encounters but would be too late to escape her ruthless way to inflict damage.  She is a force to reckon with within the "Injustice 2" game that is if she will be a playable character.  As of the moment, no confirmation has been made yet, IGN added.

Catwoman is a recurring character for the game sequel.  She will be fighting alongside Batman and where she will showcase her flexible, agile skill but still be able to deliver a deadly dose of attack.

Cheetah's razor sharp claws and fangs mean only one thing, deadly damage. Nobody knows yet if Wonder Woman will be able to stop her. Last for now, for the new female warriors of "Injustice 2," Black Canary may not let Superman slip away from her again this time around. The latest announcement trailer does show much about the special skills and abilities that the DC ladies will deliver.  But a couple of new stages were shown nonetheless.

A few days ago, the studio also released Swamp Thing's introductory video, which confirmed his inclusion to the fighting game. The character reveals trailer showcasing his ability to control the surrounding vegetation and his teleportation-like abilities will let him close the distance in a snap of a finger.  This makes him really deadly.

Fans have been clamoring for the humanoid/plant elemental creature ever since the first "Injustice" game arrived.  Now their wish has been granted.

"Injustice 2": will arrive on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on May 16.  Watch "Injustice 2's" Here come the girls:
