Grand Theft Auto 5 Next Gen: PC Version Spotted on Gamestop, PS4 and Xbox One on the Way?

Grand Theft Auto 5 PC Version Spotted on Gamestop

It's not the first time it's happened, but another game store has accidentally posted a listing for the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V.  This time it's Gamestop, who posted the above listing for the game before realizing their mistake ("Grand Theft Auto V: Five"?) and yanking it off the site. If Rockstar's history is any indication it's absolutely on the way for PC, but these increasing amount of leaks seems to suggest it's coming sooner rather than later.

This is the latest in a string of retailer mistakes, coming right on top of Worten, a Portugese retailer, who listed GTA:V for PS4 earlier this month and SuperGamer.cz, who listed the game for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC release for June 13. Next-gen gamers are dying for the latest GTA game for their systems, especially since the game's release coincided with the launches of both the Xbox One and PS4.

The most damning evidence were the PC and PS4 references found within the game's files, 2000 or so lines of code that reveal that PC and PS4 versions of GTA:V were being developed, the PC edition of which will have DirectX 11 support and have much-improved graphics over the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions.

Of course, one thing the current versions have over the upcoming ones? They're on sale. You can currently pick up GTA: V for a mere $40, and they're certainly going to drop even lower by the time the new editions roll around.

One thing's almost certain- GTA:V for PC is happening, but nothing official has been announced just yet. We'll let you know when it is.
