PS Vita Update 3.10 - Download Firmware to Update Your System With New Calendar, Raised App Cap, Memory Manager

PS Vita Update 3.10 Now Available- Includes New Calendar, Memory Manager, Raise to 500 Apps

Sony has released the latest system software update for the Playstation Vita, version 3.10. It's now available to download when you turn on your system. It includes a huge amount of updates and much-requested features, such as an increased app cap, a new calendar, an improved camera, and the ability to easily manage your memory.

The app limit made a lot of gamers mad. Before the Vita could only hold 100 apps on the home screen. It seems like a lot but with so many games and app available it could fill up quickly, and so the cap has been raised to 500 apps.

That new Calendar app is pretty nifty and anyone who uses Google Calendar can sync their calendars, as well. An update to the email app will allow you to sync your Gmail contact too.

The Camera app has been updated and you can now take panorama pictures.

But certainly one of the handiest features is the new memory manager. Vita owners know how hard it is to manage space, what with their expensive proprietary memory cards. When 32 GB cards cost $80 most gamers have to deal with far less, and since many of us are constantly filling up our systems with all of those free PS Plus games and sales week after week, such as with Monster Hunter Freedom Unite today, and it's difficult to figure out which games to swap and how to make more room. No longer.

There's also now the updated Messages app that allows you to exchange voice messages with other Vita and PS4 players.

Here's the full list of updates, straight from Sony.

-You can now display up to 500 applications on the home screen.

-A Calendar application has been added for PS Vita, allowing you to set up gaming events with your friends. Sync your Google calendar to have all your events with you on your PS Vita. You can also share your favorite events by using the Messages and Email applications.

-A new "Manage Content on Memory Card" option has been added to the Content Manager application. You can now view the data on your memory card, making it easier than ever to manage content on your PS Vita. You can now view memory usage by content type, and delete content and applications.

-You can now send and receive voice messages using the Messages application on PS Vita. Exchange voice messages with your friends and players on PS4 and PS Vita.
