In a recent news, OnePlus has now rolling out the OxygenOS 4.1.7 update to its OnePlus 3 and 3T smartphones and it brings about long awaited touch latency improvements to the handsets. Also, the update brings along battery optimisations and Android security patch for this month of August. Noticeably, if owners have not updated Google Hangouts, it will be automatically removed with the new update.

In addition, the update also brings a bunch of bug fixes such as a fix for a sound channel error during video capture, for an app locker problem involving some third-party apps, an issue where making a phone call might lead to the display being turned on with the screen off gesture and so.

According to Android Headlines, OnePlus stated that the update will remove the Hangouts app, if it was not updated from Google Play. The OxygenOS 4.1.7 update has been suggested to fix a sound channel error that showed up while recording videos, an issue where calls were being routed to speaker abruptly by some third-party apps, and a rendering issue in Kannada language. Remarkably, the update also brings about the fix for the App Locker third party app issue. Recently, it was discovered that an app launcher app from Google Play could be used to easily bypass the app lockers offered on OxygenOS.

Though Oxygen OS 4.1.7 will be rolled out as an OTA update to a set of users limited today, with a full rollout set to follow in the next few days as per Gsmarena. It may also take some time for the OTA update, users can just manually search for the update by going to the settings on their phone.

OnePlus recently affirmed that Android 8.0 Oreo will be the last biggest OS update for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T. Even with the Android O update, the OnePlus 3T will receive over one year of support. The open beta program for both handsets will also end once they are updated to Android 8. Furthermore, OnePlus, also confirmed that the company will push Oxygen OS 4.5 to the OnePlus 3 and 3T a month or two after the August security update goes live. Users will expect the 4.5 update to arrive sometime in October.
