Several reports revealed that Warner Media delayed the release date of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, the video game based on DC Comic's Suicide Squad comics, until 2023.

The video game title is one of the projects that Warner Bros. pushed back due to video game production problems caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to Bloomberg, Jason Kilar, chief executive officer for Warner Media, wrote on his Twitter page that the company will be releasing a full slate of highly anticipated games for this year.

But the Tweet showed images for Hogwarts Legacy and Gotham Knights, leaving out Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

According to IGN, Warner Media first announced at the DC FanDome 2020 event that the video game would receive a 2022 release window. Following the release of its trailer at the same event, they also release another trailer showcasing its gameplay last December.

Aside from Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, according to Morning Picker, Warner Media also planned to release Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, the sixth video game entry in the Lego Star Wars franchise.

The game was planned to be rolled out last 2021. However, they decided to release it this year due to the pandemic.

As of this writing, Warner Media did not post any comments regarding the reported delay of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League's release date.

First announced in 2020 and developed by Rocksteady Studios, a London-based video game behind the Batman: Arkham series, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is an action-adventure game that lets its players control the members of the Suicide Squad.

The game also allows them to engage in gameplay that combines both beat-'em-up and shooting games.

It can be played solo, where they can switch between characters at will with other characters are being controlled by its AI or with up to three other players in its cooperative multiplayer game mode.

Its timeline is set in the universe that the Batman previously established: Arkham series, with events that took place after Batman: Arkham Knight, the last game Rocksteady created for the series in 2015.

Amanda Waller created the Suicide Squad and Arkham Asylum inmates Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark for a covert mission in Metropolis in the game.

Upon arriving in the city, they found out that Brainiac had invaded Earth and started brainwashing the humans, including the members of the Justice League such as Superman, The Flash, and Green Lantern. Wonder Woman is the only member that Brainiac did not brainwash.

With no heroes to ask for help, it is up to the Suicide Squad to save the Metropolis and the world by defeating the Justice League and stopping Brainiac from achieving his plans to dominate the whole planet.

As they progress in the game, players can customize each character with unique weapons and abilities.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PCs.
