In Pokemon Legends: Arceus, players will explore the region of Hisui, the eventual Sinnoh region after it was discovered, to encounter and catch wild Pokemon. They will also take Missions and Requests that they have to clear to progress in the game.
One of the missions they will complete is "Disaster Looming," where they need to clear the trials from Uxie, Azelf, and Mesprit, the three Legendary Pokemon that guard the lakes of the Hisui region.
Clearing the Trials
After talking to several non-playable characters in both the Jubilife Village and several parts of the Obsidian Fieldlands, according to IGN, Volo will meet them and tell them to follow him to a mysterious cabin.
Inside the cabin, they will talk to Mistress Cogita about the three lakes in the Hisui region - Lake Verity, Lake Valor, and Lake Acuity. Each of these lakes was protected by one of the Legendary guardians.
After letting Mistress Cogita finish the story, they will start venturing towards the lakes to start the trials along with Volo, but an Abra will appear with a letter from Captain Cyllene.
Then Irida and Adaman will show up, asking the players to choose either one of them to help them accomplish the task.
After making their choice, they will run towards Lake Valor in the Crimson Mirelands. The lake is located in the northeast part of the area.
Once they are in front of the lake, Arc Phone will start to beep and reveal the entrance to the Valor Cavern. From there, they have to fight the Alpha Overqwill that is guarding inside.
After defeating the Pokemon, Azelf will appear before them, asking them to show their unbreakable will by throwing throw balms at it.
Then, they will collect the balms scattered around the area and throw them at the Pokemon. However, Azelf will evade everything that they are throwing through teleportation.
It will eventually ask them to give up, but the character that players play will reply they are "not done yet." They will continue throwing balms at Azelf until one of them hits the Legendary Pokemon.
Then, Azelf will tell them that they have passed the trial and hand them one of the pieces of the Red Chain, the Azelf's Fang.
Next, they will go back to the Obsidian Fieldlands to travel west towards Lake Verity, where Mesprit is waiting for them.
Like the first one, the Arc Phone opens the entranceway towards the Verity Cavern. From there, according to FTW, they need to defeat the Alpha Hisuian Goodra first before facing the Legendary Pokemon.
It will eventually ask them to share their emotions by answering a series of questions regarding what they feel in situations such as the bonds between humans and Pokemon, mingling with the region's clans, and being cast out of the Galaxy Team.
The answers will not matter in this trial, and instead, Mesprit will give them another piece of the Red Chain, the Mesprit's Plume.
Finally, they will travel towards Lake Acuity in Alabaster, Iceland, to face the last Guardian, Uxie. From there, the Arc Phone will show them the entrance to Acuity Cavern.
From there, they will need to face and defeat the Alpha Hisuian Zoroark. Once they defeat it, Uxie will appear in front of them, asking a riddle that they need to solve.
It will ask them how many eyes a Combee, a Zubat, a Unown, a Magneton, and a Dusclops each have. Instead of answering it individually, they need to input the numbers as a single digit.
The correct answer should be 60131 - Combee has six eyes, Zubat has no eyes, all Unown forms only have one eye, and Magneton has three eyes because it is made up of three Magnemites Dussclops only has one eye.
After answering the question and getting it right, they will receive the final piece of the Red Chain, the Uxie's Claw. Then, they will go back to the Crimson Mirelands to travel south to the Shrouded Ruins.
Once they are in the area, Mistress Cogita will appear and talk to you about the Red Chain. While they are trying to put the pieces together, Uzie, Mesprit, and Azelf approach them to help create the item.
They will also learn that Commander Kamado, the boss of the Galaxy Team, is planning to climb Mount Coronet himself.
After creating the Red Chain, they will run towards the Jubilife Village and talk to Professor Laverton and Captain Cyllene regarding their information. Then, they will be asked to travel to Mount Coronet to accomplish the next mission.
