Love is in the air in Pokemon Go as the open-world augmented reality mobile game announced its Valentine's Day Event.

The event marked the debut of Flabebe, the Fairy-type Single Bloom Pokemon from Generation VI, along with its Evolutions, Floette and Florges.

Aside from the newly-introduced Pokemon, other chosen Pokemon will appear in the wild more often during the event.

The Valentine's Day Event also allowed the players to clear a set of Collection Challenges and Field Research Tasks to earn Pokemon Encounters, XP, and Stardust.

What to Expect

According to a post on the game's website, Flabebe will appear in five different colors - red, yellow, orange, blue, and white during the event.

Depending on where they are, players will encounter a different colored Flabebe in the wild.

Those who live in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa regions will encounter a Red Flower Flabebe. In the Asia-Pacific region, they will encounter the Blue Flower Flabebe. And if they live in North and South America, they will encounter the Yellow Flower Flabebe.

If they are lucky enough, they might encounter the White Flower and Orange Flower Flabebe no matter what region they are in.

Aside from Flabebe, they will also encounter other Pokemon that will appear in the wild more often during the event.

These include Chansey, Plusle, Minun, Volbeat, Illumise, Luvdisc, Woobat, and Natural Form Furfrou.

Suppose they are lucky enough, not only that they will encounter their Shiny versions, except for Natural Form Furfou. In that case, they will also encounter Miltank, Audino, and Alomomola, including their Shiny versions.

Those who caught a Natural Form Furfou during the event can change its form into its Heart Trim version by tapping the Change Form button after selecting the Pokemon in their Storage. This will cost them 25 Furfou Candy and 10,000 Stardust.

As for Raids, Miltank, Roselia, Audino, and Natural Form Furfou will appear in the 1-Star Raids, while Niqueen, Nidoking, Lickitung, Gardevoir, and Gallade will be in the 3-Star Raids.

Collections Challenges, Research Tasks

Players who will participate in Pokemon Go's Valentine's Day event will have a chance to clear Collection Challenges and Field Research Tasks to gain in-game rewards.

According to Eurogamer, players need to catch Luvdisc, Woobat, Plusle, Minun, Natural Form Furfou, Volbeat, and Illumise that will appear in the wild and Raids to give themselves a total of 4,000 XP, 4,000 Stardust, and an encounter with the Male and Female Frillish.

They need to clear the Collection Challenge until February 14 at 8:00 PM, local time.

On the other hand, players who want to be rewarded with Pokemon encounters can clear a set of Field Research Tasks.

To do this, according to Gamepur, they need to spin either a PokeStop or a Gym in their area to get the tasks. They can carry up to three of them simultaneously.

For the Valentine's Day event's Field Research Task, they need to catch 20 Luvdiscs in the wild, catch five different Pokemon, earn up to three Hearts while traveling with their Pokemon Buddy, make five Great Curveball throws in a row, use up to five berries to help them catch Pokemon, and win a Raid.

Accomplishing them will give them encounters, with Alomomola, Luvdisc, Pikachu, Eevee, Ralts, Frillish, and a specially-patterned Spinda.
