'Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order 2' Might Be Revealed This May

'Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order 2' Could Be Revealed During May, Says Jeff Grubb

"Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order 2" could finally be revealed during the "Star Wars" celebration this May.

This was the claim of game journalist Jeff Grubb, who mentioned the rumored reveal during his recent GamesBeat Decides episode on YouTube, writes WCCFTech. Aside from that, he also mentioned a late 2022 release window, which puts the game's launch right within the super-competitive Holiday season.

Here is the GamesBeat Decides episode where Grubb made his claim. Check from the 1:38.38 mark:

As per Grubb, there are "so many EA games" releasing within the next two years, with the highly anticipated "Jedi Fallen Order" sequel being one of them. This also includes "Dragon Age 4" (which he said earlier this year could release within 18 months), as well as the "Dead Space" remake, which has been pushed to early 2023.

But since there's no official confirmation from EA yet, you'll need to take Grubb's claims with a pinch of salt. What's for certain, however, is that "Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order 2" has already been confirmed earlier this year and will come one way or another. The sequel is no longer a rumor.

According to an official post on the EA website published January 25th, the development for the game is being headed by "Apex Legends" and "Titanfall" dev Respawn Entertainment, who were also the ones that made the first game which was released back in 2019-to raving reviews, no less.

Expectations About 'Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order 2'

The "Jedi Fallen Order" sequel is being helmed once again by director Stig Asmussen, who was in charge of the first game (as well as several "God Of War" titles), according to PC Gamer. Considering how the first game was very well-received, which is huge news considering it is an EA "Star Wars" game, there is high confidence that Asmussen will push all the right buttons.

Aside from that, there's really no other confirmed detail about "Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order 2." It is not even known whether the game will take place right after the story of the first one, which was set five years after the Clone Wars and over a decade before the attack on the first Death Star.

During the first game, protagonist Cal Kestis was on the hunt for a Holocron containing the names of Force-sensitive children. Initially, his quest was to help rebuild the Jedi Order with these names, but he weirdly destroyed the Holocron at the end of the game shortly after his brush with Darth Vader himself. Where Cal plans to go from there, though, we cannot say.

Improved Lightsaber Combat?

When the first "Jedi Fallen Order" game was released, many people compared its lightsaber mechanics to the "Soulsborne" games. Some were even calling it a "Star Wars Soulsborne" title, considering how its gameplay elements mirror that of the "Souls" games (i.e. bonfires being replaced by meditation points, the dodge roll, enemies respawning when saving, etc.).

But according to GameRant, there's still a chance that EA and Respawn can further improve on the game's lightsaber combat and "set the bar" with new gameplay additions to make it feel even better. Perhaps players could be able to dual-wield lightsabers, use lightsaber stances, or anything else-all speculation for now.
