In a recent Overwatch League game, officials decided to force one of the competing teams to replay a round after performing an "illegal play."

The match was between the Paris Eternal and the Florida Mayhem. It was the latter who was ordered to replay around after they used an exploit with Mei and Symmetra, wherein they used Mei's Ice Wall ability in conjunction with Sym's Teleporter to reach a previously unreachable high vantage point.
According to DotESports, the move was considered illegal by Overwatch League officials, who paused the match after Paris Eternal went on the offensive. Here is the aforementioned play:
OWL head Sean Miller subsequently posted a comment on Twitter, saying that the move, while a "fun" play, has never been allowed in official matches of the eSports league:
While we understand this was a fun play, the ruling here is that using a Mei wall to reach unusable locations with the Symmetra teleport is an exploit and has never been allowed in OWL matches. This rule has been shared with teams and players prior to the start of the season.

As per the original DotESports report, the reason for banning the play is that Mei's wall created a flat surface for Sym's Teleporter on an otherwise impossible surface. In basic usage, you can't put a Teleporter on a slanted roof, for instance, where the Florida Mayhem used the exploit.
Molly "AVALLA" Kim, who is the general manager of Overwatch League team Paris Eternal, commented on the issue later:
But despite her pronouncements and the forced round restart, everything was for naught as the Florida Mayhem still took the match on the Circuit Royal Map, 3-1. That's even without using the exploit anymore. The match between the Mayhem and the Eternal is part of the league's opening weekend. Wherein all teams were already playing a build of the still-unreleased Overwatch 2.

As previously mentioned, the eSports league featuring Activision Blizzard's popular hero shooter is right in its opening weekend. Aside from the Mayhem and the Eternal slugging it out, other teams have featured in intense matches during the past few days of the season's debut.
The New York Excelsior and the Los Angeles Gladiators are among the first to duke it out, with the Gladiators winning 3-1. Next up was the San Francisco Shock going up against Paris Eternal, which were swept by the Shock in their recent match. These are just two of the games that have gone on during the past few days, the highlights of which you can now watch on the official Overwatch League YouTube channel.
In other news about Overwatch 2, players' thoughts on the upcoming sequel are already out after the playable beta, and they're mostly mixed. As reported by the Washington Post, some folks are saying that there's not much a difference between the first Overwatch game and the new one, while others are arguing that it's not about what was added, but what was taken out:
