Blizzard's upcoming "World of Warcraft" mobile game will be released on May.

According to Polygon, suspect Evan Baltierra has been stalking the Twitch streamer who goes by the name of Nali since 2020. The 29-year-old defendant is now scheduled to appear in court as per the California Department of Justice, on the charge of federal stalking. He was arrested last May 23rd by FBI agents.

Upon Baltierra's arrest, federal agents sized a few items. These included a USB drive that contained alleged pornography with the victim's face on them. Aside from that, the suspect's iPhone and email accounts also contained traces of harassing messages he sent to the streamer during his "multi-year harassment campaign," says the news release on the US Department of Justice website

Nali also posted her side of events on Twitlonger, where more details about Baltierra's stalking emerged. It was revealed that the suspect was actually a former moderator of the World Of Warcraft player's Twitch stream, but was removed after Nali met him at Blizzcon 2019 for the first time.

Here's here story about meeting Baltierra during the convention:

"After that meeting, his behavior started to become concerning. It started with his increasing need for attention in my stream, increasing donatios, and continued attempts to get me to speak with him privately in Discord."

She furthers:

"When I made it clear I was in a relationship, he tried to talk to one of my friends about wanting to visit me in Canada. He lives in the United States. I had never indicated this was something I wanted. It was at this time I noticed the first fake account he made, which was making inappropriate comments on my photos."

To cap things off, Baltierra even allegedly used his experience as a former police officer and US marine as an intimidation tactic, all in an attempt to get what he wants. If convicted, he could serve a maximum sentence of five years in prison.

A Problematic World Of Warcraft Player

Even before meeting the Twitch streamer Nali, Baltierra has already proved to be a problematic World Of Warcraft player judging by the numerous times he got banned from the game.

As per the original Polygon report, Activision Blizzard has banned Baltierra several times - including one permanent ban - for allegations of harassment. He was said to have tried to appeal the bans, but was denied. It was also his continued stalking that prompted the company to hire a security person for Nali whenever she needs to come to events. Things even escalated to police officers having a photograph of Baltierra on-hand, which describes him as a potential threat.

Activision Blizzard says they actually have a system for reporting in-game harassment, as said in a forum post. But apparently, even contacting the support team doesn't achieve anything, as players are still reporting being stalked by strangers.
