Capcom announced the arrival of "Street Fighter 6" soon along with the 10 fighting game titles for the Fighting Collection series.

This has been confirmed by the official Street Fighter Twitter account, which posted a short 22-second clip of the faceoff screen before a fight. As reported by PushSquare, players can change their chosen character's facial expression during this screen using the D-pad on their controllers:

As you can see there, changing expressions on the fly seems to be quite easy. You can scowl at your opponent, smile at them, and even "confuse them with a mixture of rapid emotions" according to Capcom. This can be quite good when you're playing online, but if you're playing live with another person in the same room, who's to say you can't just do it with your own face?

Either way, the feature has been confirmed for Street Fighter 6, though some people might find it a little underwhelming. According to Eurogamer's Wesley Yin-Poole, he imagines that the faceoff screen wilkl be fun for quite a bit, but will eventually lose its charm over time. It might be a different thing for other people, but he does make a good point there.

For now, the waiting game is on for the next Street Fighter game - the first one since 2016's Street Fighter 5. Six years is more or less an eternity in the game industry, which is why people are quite excited about Capcom's new instalment of the famous beat-em-up franchise. And people are excited, alright, as numerous leaks have sprung following the game's reveal during the recently concluded PlayStation State of Play event.

The leaks came a little too fast and furious, prompting Capcom to respond in a way that acknowledges but neither denies/confirms them, but also thanks folks for their continued support of the game:

Street Fighter 6 is scheduled to launch on the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S (no Xbox One), and PC via Steam next year.

More New Details About Street Fighter 6

Due to the leaks, you probably already know way more about the next Street Fighter game than you're supposed to - even if the information wasn't exactly confirmed. But let's change that up a bit with a few more new details, which are in fact legitimate.

First off, Capcom has revealed that the game will have a real-time commentary feature, reports ComicBook. Long-time fighting game community personality Jeremy "Vicious" Lopez will commentate in English, while Aru will provide the Japanese language commentary. Here's a video announcing the feature:

Second and last, Capcom has confirmed that the game's timeline happens after the events of Street Fighter 3 (via GameInformer). What this means is that Street Fighter 6 is set and the end of the series' timeline, considering how the 5th game in the franchise was actually set before the 3rd one.
