Here's How The Resident Evil 4 Remake Would Look Like In Unreal Engine 5

LOOK: This Unreal Engine 5 Version Of The Resident Evil 4 Remake Will Make You Drool

The Resident Evil 4 remake has finally been confirmed after spending so long in the rumor mill. It looks amazing by all means as a modern remake of a classic game should be, but perhaps it could've looked even more insane if Capcom decided to use a different engine.

That engine will be Epic Games' Unreal Engine 5. In a demo created by independent graphics design studio TeaserPlay and uploaded to YouTube, the original game from 2005 go a massive visual upgrade that might leave fans wondering: "why didn't Capcom use this engine in the first place?"

Here's the trailer:

But while this trailer looks legitimate, GameRant reports that this is in no way an indication of a separate remake being developed outside Capcom's official project. It would've been a copyright nightmare to deal with if TeaserPlay is actually working on one, but that's a whole new different story.

As you can see in the Unreal Engine 5 trailer, you might recognize a lot of the areas being presented - the iconic, atmospheric woods, and the mansion where Nemesis resides - it's all there. Add Leon's voiceover to that and the recognizable HUD, and you get something that wil make you very excited for the future of video game graphics.

The official Resident Evil 4 remake was revealed during the recently concluded PlayStation State Of Play. Slated to release next year on March 24th, the game is being billed by Capcom as a "reawakening" rather than a remake. It also reportedly features PSVR2 content right out of the bat, which directly pointed to it being a next-gen exclusive title. So no last-gen ports here.

Here's the trailer to further wet your appetite, which already looks great in its own right:

More Details About The Resident Evil 4 Remake

Many people were asking whether the Resident Evil 4 remake would also come to Xbox and PC, given that it was first revealed during State Of Play. But since Capcom isn't a first-party studio for Sony, Xbox Series X/S and PC players need not fret: yes, it is indeed coming to those platforms on the same day as the PS5 version.

Now that's out of the way, other confirmed news involves the game's casting. As reported by PlayStationLifestyle, it is now a lock that Instagram influencer Ella Freya will be in the remake. Whether she'll be playing the character Ashley Graham as her face model or voice actor isn't clear, however. Ashley Graham is one of the pivotal characters in the game as she is the one that protagonist Leon Kennedy went to rescue.

To close things off, we also know that PSVR2 content for the reimagined Resident Evil 4 has been confirmed as in development, writes Dexerto. It is still not clear whether the entire game will be available in VR or just some parts, but nevertheless, this is a great option for those who want to up the ante even more in terms of horror.
