HUGE GTA 6 Leak Reveals Key Details About The Game

A new GTA 6 leak just popped up courtesy of a renowned, reliable insider, and it reveals a lot of unconfirmed (but good if true) details about Rokstar Games' next open-world epic.

Much of the info in the new leak comes from Bloomberg's Jason Schreier. According to GameSpot, his leak is the biggest info dumb about GTA 6 so far, and it contains a few details regarding the game's protagonist, where it is set, and when it could be out. But the protagonist is perhaps the biggest change of them all considering what they did in the past games.

Schreier claims that the next GTA game will feature a Latina protagonist. If accurate, this will make her the first-ever playable female character in the main story (you've always been able to create and play female characters in GTA Online). But she apparently won't be the only lead, as she will be working with a partner that will give the game a reportedly "Bonnie And Clyde" vibe.

For those who might be unaware, Bonnie & Clyde (Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow) were a pair of outlaws active during the Great Depression of the 1920s and 1930s. Their lives ended in a hail of bullets when they figured in a shootout with authorities.

Now, with the short history lesson out of the way, let's move on to the map. The new GTA 6 leak says the game will be set in a very familiar place: Vice City. But it is said that this was a bit of a downgrade because the game's initial scale was way too big. It was supposed to include "large swaths" of the American continent, apparently prompting Rockstar to give it the codename "Project Americas." But despite being only set in Vice City, the leak says the game will still be quite big and will have "more interior locations than previous games."

Schreier's info dump basically corroborates a lot of the initial leaks that happened in recent times. The most prominent is the dual-protagonist system, which is an obvious change from GTA 5's triple-protagonist decision. Next up is the Vice City setting, which was part of the numerous early leaks talking about the game.

This is a developing story.

'All-Time High Morale'

But more than this new GTA 6 leak, Schreier may have also revealed that Rockstar has more or less "cleaned up its act" and that the game's development is finally going well after several snags.

In his accompanying Bloomberg report, the renowned industry insider claims that the studio has "cleaned up its frat-boy culture." This means that there's been a new tone in the company resulting to morale being at an "all-time high." There's also a supposed change in creative direction, leading to the next GTA game "feeling very different" from GTA 5.

These massive, sweeping changes were said to be the result of massive worker backlash over the studio's crunch culture. Schreier says the overhaul began in 2018 when the studio was called out for the toxic workplace, with Rockstar Games sacking a handful of managers accused of abusing employees and promising a massive cut in mandatory overtimes:

On GTA 6's side, this led to improvements in the game's development time which has been very, very slow. It is said that work on the game began as far back as 2014, meaning a 2024-2026 rumored release date would've meant an over a decade-long development cycle.
