Hideo Kojima Teases Finished Trailer For Possibly His Next Game

The ever-secretive industry legend that is Hideo Kojima has teased a finished trailer for what is possibly his next big game.

DualShockers reports that Kojima recently took to Twitter to tease the completion of a trailer he's been working on. As per DualShockers, this isn't too out of the blue for him, as he's known for editing his own trailers for his upcoming games. The man does say, after all, that 70% of his body is made of movies on his personal Twitter account.

As you can see, there's barely any major information you can glean from the tweet. All he says is he's "tentatively finished editing" something. Whatever project this might be, this is more or less very on-brand with Kojima, who's been known to be extremely cryptic online.

For now, whatever video he was working on is anybody's guess. But some think this could be a teaser for his next rumored game. That game, according to renowned industry leaker Tom Henderson, is reportedly called Overdose. It is said to feature at least one alumna from Hideo Kojima's latest game, Death Stranding: actress Margaret Qualley. She notably played the character Mama in Death Stranding.

As per Henderson, Hideo Kojima's next game already has footage that he shared early. In a report by Dexerto, it is said that the footage shows Qualley as Mama wearing a blue dress and walking through dark corridors while holding a flashlight. The video reportedly ends with a jumpscare and the words "GAMEOVER," as well as the game's title "OVERDOSE," prompting rumors that Kojima's next game is a horror title.

Either way, whatever Hideo Kojima's next game might be will surely be another blockbuster. The man's been doing it far longer than almost anyone in the industry, and his projects are almost always to look out for whenever they come out.

Is Hideo Kojima's Next Game The One He's Making With Xbox?

Another rumor concerning the upcoming Kojima game links back to the project that he's finally officially announced with Xbox. The project was revealed back in June by none other than Xbox head honcho Phil Spencer himself:

Kojima follows with a few words describing his next game, which he says is a "completely new game" and something he's always wanted to make. He also says that it's a game that "no one has ever experienced or seen before," and we're inclined to believe him. Death Stranding is, after all, far from a "normal" game.

Aside from that, Kojima also mentioned that the game is being made using Microsoft's industry-leading cloud technology. He says this tech-enabled him to "challenge" himself into making something that no one has seen before, but he also said that it might take some time before new details are revealed.

As for whether this next game with Xbox is the rumored title Overdose (and the one whose trailer he may have just finished editing), that's anyone's guess.
