How to Grow Crops in LEGO Fortnite

LEGO Fortnite is really popular right now. In fact, some of your friends might have already played it, so you're thinking of joining in with them for the ride. But, while it is indeed fun to play, there are certain things you need to know in order to enjoy it to the fullest.

Being a survival game, you have to satiate your hunger in LEGO Fortnite. While you can grab different types of food in the wild to eat, you can actually cultivate your own crops for a more sustainable way of feeding yourself.

In this guide, you will learn how to grow crops in LEGO Fortnite.

How to Get Started

The first thing you need to do is put up a Lumber Mill so that you can unlock the crafting recipe for the Shovel. The Lumber Mill requires eight pieces of Wood and 15 pieces of Granite to build. Once the structure is finished, you can now craft the Shovel for three Wooden Rods and a single piece of Plank.

The reason why you need the Shovel is so that you can create the Garden Plot. You will need a couple of Soil for this, which you can obtain by digging into the ground using, you've guessed it, your newly crafted Shovel!

In addition to Soil, you need some Fertilizer. Funnily enough, you can acquire some Fertilizer by searching for a herd of animals in LEGO Fortnite. Just wait until they drop a brown-looking substance on the ground. Yes, it is icky but you will need it if you are to make a Garden Plot for your crops.

Once you have everything you need, bring up the crafting UI, select the Garden Plot, and place it somewhere in your village.

Get Some Seeds

Developing some Garden Plots is just one part of the equation, you will also need seeds if you are to grow crops in the game.

There are two ways you can obtain seeds in LEGO Fortnite. The first is by acquiring them from various chests that you can find in the overworld. The second, and the most reliable option, is by obtaining seeds from the Grain Mill.

Before you can actually build the Grain Mill, however, you must search for some Knotroots. Also known as "Knotted Roots," they can be found abundantly in caves. Look for a huge bunch of roots on cave walls that are tied in a circular fashion. Go near it, interact with it, and you should be able to acquire one shortly after.

Once that is done, you can now put up the Grain Mill using 20 Knotroot Rods, 20 Granite Slabs, and three Shells.

When the Grain Mill has been established, you can actually assign some of your villagers to craft seeds from the said structure for you, provided that your Village is of considerable level.

Grow Crops

With seeds in hand, interact with the Garden Plots you have made earlier to plant them. After some time, the crops will be ready to harvest. You can harvest them manually or have some of the villagers do that for you.

Aside from that, you can get busy with other stuff and not think about your Garden Plots by putting a stack of seeds on each one. Make sure that your Village level is high enough so that the entire planting and harvesting process is automated thanks to your villagers.

So, are you ready to grow some crops in LEGO Fortnite?
